About the Author
Nnamdi Paul Agbakoba, born on the 19th day of Dec. 1958, is the 4th son in a family of five boys and one girl.
Nnamdi is the son of a legal luminary and one time Chief Justice of Anambra State of Nigeria, Charles Ubaka Agbakoba and a Hair fashion Designer and Industrialist Josephine Agbakoba.
Nnamdi received initial introductions into the creative, literary and performing arts from his mother who labored tirelessly to give him a solid foundation.
However, his early development in the creative arts was marred by the out-break of hostilities in 1966 when the civil war-the Nigeria Biafran Civil war broke.
At the end of the war in 1970, Nnamdi continued his journey in the world of the creative arts when he stared in a high powered epic opera production,- The sleeping Beauty at the age of 12. Subsequently, in 1971, he won the East Central State prize for the performing arts issued by the Arts Council of the East Central State Government. In 1975 while in high school, Nnamdi stared as the lead character Antonio in another high powered production in Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice making over 100 performances over a two years period that cut across three states.
Fresh from high school in 1978 and at the tender age of 20, Nnamdi became one of the youngest newscasters to be employed by the Nigeria Television Authority NTV Enugu.
Immediately after this period, in 1979 Nnamdi proceeded to Cincinnati, United States of America where he had gained admission to study Broadcasting in the University of Cincinnati. In 1983 he earned a BFA in broadcasting Radio/Television.
After his national service programme (NYSC) in 1985, Nnamdi took a break from the performing arts, engaging himself in a variety of businesses raging from exports and imports. He was one of the pioneers of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) who endeavored to ensure that Nigerians living in Europe and the U.S.A received fresh supplies of African food stuffs.
In 1997 he floated a production studio outfit, Visions Questron Digital and went on to produce several movies for the Nollywood film industry including the famous video tutor – a 60 hour project on tutorials in seven key exam subjects including Mathematics, and English and all the science subjects, placing emphasis on practical.
In 2002 he released two books, Terrors of War (Novel) and Terrors of War/ Pictures and Poetry of War. Both books amongst numerous endorsements got the endorsement of the United Nations (UNESCO) with an impressive foreword. Both books were classified as peace and conflict resolution texts. The first ever two term President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria – Olusegun Obasanjo has reviewed and endorsed the Terrors of War and was particularly pleased to review a portion of the book that offered some very complimentary statements concerning his involvement as a major personality in the Nigerian Biafra War.
Pictures and Poetry of War got a simultaneous adoption by the National Examination Council (NECO) and West African Examination Council (WAEC) as an examination book for over 4 Million students that sit for Junior Secondary School (JSS) and Senior Secondary School (SSS) level exams nationwide.
“Drill Master” power tools for creative writing” was Nnamdi’s next literary work which is simply a resource book teaching the art of creative writing.
Inspired by a book that received very high ratings, a book exposing the ills of child abuse “The child called IT” by Dave Petzler, Nnamdi embarked on his 4th Literary effort – titled : “That Child” the story of Chudi, one Child’s grinding ordeal of Child Abuse and the victory survival.

In 2013 while Nnamdi embarked on yet another literary work – “Multiple seductions – the testimonies and diary of a sex slave” Nnamdi got another double adoption of two of his books “That Child” and “Terrors of War-pictures and poetry of War” into the West African school certificate curriculum for all senior secondary school (SSS) students in the west African sub-region.
Having been inspired by the books and poems of Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka and iconic Writer Chinua Achebe, Nnamdi proposes to write yet another book he has reasons to believe Chinua Achebe would have wished to write “There was a woman” © which is a book that will be a book inspired by Chinua Achebe’s last book – “There was a country”.
Nnamdi is the Executive Director of Society against Terror and War a Lagos based NGO whose activities are geared towards the inculcation, propagation and dissemination of peace education and conflict resolution literature and projects.
Nnamdi is married to his lovely and charismatic wife Joy, The CEO of Travellers Haven, experts in tour and holiday packaging and specializing in United Arab Emirates (U.A.E), East and South Africa safari and wildlife destinations. They are blessed with to lovely daughters Ifeanyiwa currently resident in London UK and an employee of Price Water Cooper (PWC) while her younger sibling Anwuli is A level student in London UK.
